Yoga + Whitewater Wellness Weekend

  Tama Dickerson, Breathworker  has been residing in WNC since 1979 with his wife and four daughters. He brings a deep commitment to spiritual growth and over 30 years experience in many modalities of healing and transformation, including extensive  Breath Work Training ,  Loving Relationship Training , and a 30 year student of the Course in Miracles.  In addition, currently his primary work is the development of Olivette Riverside Community and Farm in Asheville NC , one of the regions first true Agrihood communities recently featured on NBC news.   Paint Rock Farm , a Glamping, wedding and retreat center is his most recent project. This retreat is where all the elements of his work are coming together, connecting people with nature and Spirit in a pristine natural environment.

  Miranda Peterson, Owner & Founder of Namaste in Nature, Yoga Instructor   I have practiced yoga since 2008 and completed my RYT® 200 Yoga Teacher Training in traditional Hatha style yoga at  Ayur-Yoga Eco Ashram  in Southern India.   I prefer teaching yoga outdoors because there are so many additional benefits including Vitamin D from the sun which can help regulate hormones and improve mood, negatively charged electrons from the Earth which have an antioxidant effect on the body and clean, fresh oxygen in the air.   Combine that with heart-healthy hiking and stress-reducing meditation and you have the perfect balance of natural benefits for mind, body and soul.

This is your chance to take a weekend to disconnect from all your devices and reconnect with yourself, with nature and have some fun! 

Our incredible two day, one night weekend retreat does include a luxury canvas tent with a plush queen size bed covered with cozy blankets, brand new shared restroom facilities & showers with hot water, 4 nourishing plant-based meals, 3 yoga & meditation classes, hiking on private trails and mountaintop meditation, guided whitewater rafting on the French Broad River, live music, stress-releasing breathwork and time for relaxation and reflection using your FREE retreat journal.  

Our retreat does not include stress, anxiety, social media or screens of any kind. There’s no cell reception anyways! (However, we do have a phone number available in case of a true emergency.)  

We even have a big, beautiful barn that we can use for most activities in the event of not-so-nice weather.

Remember when you were a kid, and you couldn’t wait to be an adult and knew exactly what you wanted to be when you grew up? And now that you’re #adulting, you realize how much more awesome & easy life was as a kid and you’re not sure what or who you’re supposed to be now?

 

Well you can now experience the best of both worlds during my Weekend Adult Yoga Summer Camp at OM Sanctuary amidst the magical mountains of Asheville, NC.

 

We’re including all the camp favorites on like hiking, campfires, s’mores, songs, arts & crafts and we’ve upgraded the things that maybe weren’t so great. Like, instead of a buggy tent or cabin full of bunk beds, we have cozy cottages with private bathrooms and comfy, adult-sized beds. Instead of beans and macaroni and nuggets, we have local, organic plant-based meals to nourish your body and mind.

 

And of course we’ll do yoga and meditation every day and everywhere, including near a wonderful 300 foot waterfall just outside of town.

 

Get excited to get away from the stresses, monotony, anxieties and responsibilities of daily life in favor of trying new things and making new friends.

 

After a weekend of rest & relaxation surrounded by nature, you’ll enjoy a holistic & health-conscious tour of downtown with Asheville Wellness Tours. Then you’re free to cross anything else you want off your Asheville bucket list, like the breweries, the Biltmore and Bohemian arts & dining experiences.

 

Why am I doing this?

 

Well, a couple years ago, I quit my corporate job and ended an abusive relationship to focus for the first time ever on self-care, introspection and traveling around the world and I have literally zero regrets, y’all! It’s amazing how getting away from everything and everyone you’re used to can change your life for the better.

 

But it doesn’t have to be all tears and seriousness and such - it can be totally fun and freeing! I can’t wait to share my advice and experiences with you to help inspire and improve your own amazing journey!

 

This includes legit yoga I learned in India, meditation techniques I practiced with monks in Myanmar, art & crafts I created in Nepal and lessons I learned from hiking the Himalayas, the Alps & the Andes, having my heart bruised in Bali, volunteering with elephants in Thailand and so many more stories, books and tools I’ve used to be happier and healthier than ever!

 

But you have to hurry because space is limited to ensure a quaint and quality experience. Save some moolah by booking early bird (ends May 28) and/or bringing your bestie!

I chronicle my hikes around South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, and other areas. I have been hiking since I was old enough to walk. I grew up in a rural, forested area of Spartanburg County (SC) that was filled with hills, streams, and boulders.

I spent most of my younger years exploring the woods. I learned to love, appreciate, and respect nature. Even as a child, I would lead hikes into the woods on our land. Over the years I’ve served as a hiking guide for archaeologists, naturalists, fossil hunters, herb hunters, school groups, and individuals who simply wanted an adventure. One of my greatest joys is introducing others to hiking!

I have practiced yoga since 2008 and completed my RYT® 200 Yoga Teacher Training in traditional Hatha style yoga at Ayur-Yoga Eco Ashram in Southern India. 

I believe yoga is for every body and should be accessible to everyone. I always offer multiple options for each asana in the practices I guide so that they are inclusive of everyone from beginners to experts. 

I have also hiked or trekked around the world including the Rockies in Colorado, the Annapurna Circuit in the Himalayas of Nepal, the Lares-Chupani and Ausangate Regions of the Andes in Peru, the Calanques in France and several parts of the Alps in Switzerland. 

I am committed to living minimally and sustainably and am working towards a zero waste lifestyle.
