When Is The Best Time To Visit Asheville?

I grew up nearby and currently live here now and I still ponder this question.

The answer definitely depends on what you want to do. Asheville and Western North Carolina are well known for their outdoor activities including hiking, camping, kayaking, rafting, mountain biking, rock climbing and now yoga hiking!

We also are grateful to have amazing natural wonders near Asheville like mountains, waterfalls, wildflowers, fall colors and rare fireflies.

Our yoga hike season is  March - November and based on past experience, the best months to join us for a mindful, outdoor mini-adventure is May - October. Our 2018 season has ended and our 2019 schedule will be live soon! Contact Us if you want to plan a private yoga hike for March - November 2019.

Yoga Hikes last 2-3 hours (excluding drive time) and include:

• 2-3 mile guided hike

• Waterfall or mountain summit view

• Short, guided meditation (inclusive of beginners)

• 60-75 minute yoga class (inclusive of beginners)

• FREE Outdoor yoga mats to borrow

• FREE pictures that will be shared afterwards

The temperature and weather can change unexpectedly and change often here in the mountains so I recommend wearing layers and always pack a rain jacket so you can adjust accordingly. That’s kinda part of the yoga on our yoga hikes: we can’t control the weather, only how we react to it.

Here’s a link to the NOAA (National Oceanic And Atmospheric Administration) website, which offers a pretty reliable weather forecast for Asheville, NC and anywhere else in the US. Did you know the NOAA also has a World Data Center for Meteorology located in Asheville too?

Ray’s Weather Center (or RWC) is a local website that is worth checking out as well. Dr. Ray Russell is a Computer Science professor at Appalachian State University. He and his team of forecasters cover the weather from NC/VA line to Waynesville, NC, the Mountains to the Foothills, and all the micro-climates in between. They believe the heart of the growth is good data, "local flavor", and THE most reliable forecast
