Self Care DIY Retreat: Full Moon Theme (Letting Go, Learning, Self-Reflection)

Self Care DIY Retreat: Full Moon Theme (Letting Go, Learning, Self-Reflection)

The Full Moon is an ideal time to let go of something or someone that no longer serves you so you can create space for something or someone better.

This might include releasing stress/tension/anxiety, an unhealthy habit, a toxic relationship, self limiting thoughts or beliefs, physical objects, etc.

Think of it as spiritual/mental/emotional/physical decluttering.

Full Moon retreat themes are around self-reflection, self-improvement, analyzing, learning, releasing and letting go.

Your ideal Full Moon self care / yoga retreat itinerary/activity ideas include:
Full Moon Vortex Yoga Hike
Full Moon Yoga & Rituals
Full Moon Yoga Nidra (Guided Relaxation Video)
Salt Water Flotation (Sensory Deprivation)
• 15 Recommended Books for Self-Reflection/Self-Improvement

Full Moon Yoga & Rituals

If you practice yoga, you’ve probably heard of Sun Salutations or Surya Namaskar.

There is also a Full Moon yoga sequence called Moon Salutations or Chandra Namaskar in Sanskrit. It represents cycling through the phases of the moon.
🌑 🌒 🌓 🌔 🌕 🌖 🌗 🌘

I break down full moon yoga and rituals in this post.

Full Moon Yoga Nidra

The Full Moon is an ideal time to practice letting go of what no longer serves you (thoughts, habits, relationships, things) with this gentle, 30-minute yoga Nidra guided relaxation. All you have to do is lay down and listen! Practicing yoga Nidra may help you reduce stress and sleep better. This works best with headphones but you can use speakers as well.

Whether or not you practice Yoga Nidra regularly, the Full Moon is one of the most ideal times to do it.

Salt Water Flotation (Sensory Deprivation)

A float tank filled with 1,000 pounds of Epsom Salt is the perfect way to let go of your stress and your senses to reach a deep state of relaxation. You’ll feel like you’re floating weightlessly through space - just like the moon!

No worries if you’re a bit nervous your first time… a float specialist will walk you through the process and answer any questions you have. Sign up for a session at Still Point Wellness in Asheville, North Carolina. They also offer Esalen massage, cranial sacral therapy and somatic experiencing.

60 minute float $69 | 90 minute float $95 | 2 hour float $119

Still Point Wellness 81- B CENTRAL AVENUE, ASHEVILLE NC 28801 | (828) 348-5372

15 Recommended Books for Self-Reflection/Self-Improvement

Here are some of my favorite books to help you with self-reflection, self-improvement and decluttering your physical, mental, emotional and spiritual places. If you start reading a book during this full moon, aim to have it finished by the following full moon. If you do this every month, you would read 12 books a year!

Personally, I find it easier to listen to audio books and use Audible while I’m driving or cleaning or cooking or doing other things.
